In recent weeks I have been unable to get the wilderness or hit the highways however my camera has been far from idle. Despite living in a renowned city like Sydney, part of the reason for my photography involves things out of town is that I often think of it as an uninspiring place.
Currently comprised of construction sites (of varying quality) any worthwhile photo spot or the means to get the said spot has been compromised. What remains are the classic sights (Harbour Bridge, Opera House and Queen Victoria Building) that have been documented to death.
It would be easy to blame social media for this de-motivation. However one can look up images of Sydney before the noughties and see a over saturation of the same images. Whilst being stuck I decided to challenge myself to find new views for my hometown. The above images are the first of many in what I think I might make a greater series out of.
